Aren't boys the only real men in the world? Aren't human males similar to Crepidula fornicata, the American slipper snail, and Acera bullata, the marine snail, and the European mud snail that have versatile reproductive biologies? The fully-grown animals are mainly female. Males are only the young or immature. When a female snail meets a male, they start to copulate. During this process the male loses his virility and turns female. Another male snail nears and can mate with the now female of his species. Sometimes the animals form long copulatory chains of ten or more animals piggy-backing each other. Or are men like some snails that have both a penis and a vagina? During the mating ritual they shoot "love darts" at each other that often cause deep wounds. Then both extend their penis and penetrate deeply into the other's vagina to deposit the sperm. According to studies, the ejaculation is synchronized. Both "come" at the same time. In these animals there appears to be a discharge of muscular and nervous tension in a climactic moment. We might find this aspects disgusting or fascinating, but all of them are significant for animals and have implications for humans.
Often sexualities of prepubescent boys and old men are treated the same negative way and therefore very reduced. These sexualities in general are still a taboo, shared both by broad parts of society as well as by the medical profession in general. Equally young and elderly persons are not expected to have their own sexuality; living circumstances, particularly in many homes with strict rules, restrict any expression of intimacy, and prohibit sexual interaction. Every one is consciously and unconsciously mired in or maneuvering around their thoughts and actions concerning their sexuality.
Every one struggles in life to find their perceived conditions of acquiring contentment or joy sexually. Sexuality is absolutely the most powerful force in the makeup of human function and behavior, influencing a full spectrum of varying extremes, from complete overindulgence to complete abstinence. We are at our best when we feel either content or joyful about ourselves sexually. Finding and maintaining this sexual contentment and joy is the "sexual practice" of every human being.
